We end 2017 on the healthcast with an update on the mental health and substance abuse efforts underway here in Summit County. The end of the year brought a flurry of activity that will results in some big developments through 2018 and beyond. One of the biggest steps was the adoption of the Mental Wellness Strategic Plan. As the strategic directives in the plan are implemented, the Alliance is looking for volunteers who would be interested in lending their expertise to the Communities That Care and Access and Capacity workgroups as well as the Fundraising Committee.
“This is no longer one of those theoretical discussions. Now that we have a ratified and endorsed plan, we’re able to move all of this into action and start having solutions for the county,” Aaron Newman, Summit County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coordinator.
