It’s a surprising fact that 1 in 3 people in Summit County lives with mental illness. It’s crucial that we help our community and loved ones address their needs and create those services that will help our community the most. That’s where you come in. You are invited to attend one of two Town Halls being held in mid-September in conjunction with the Mental Wellness Alliance. All are welcome to come and provide their input and opinions on how we should proceed as a community in the years to come. So, save the date and be ready to voice your views on the important topic of mental health.
Our last mental health community survey 5 years ago was extremely successful and resulted in some incredible accomplishments:
- quadrupling of school-based services, including the addition of psychologists in the North and South Summit schools.
- establishing a mobile crisis outreach team
- increasing Spanish-speaking services from 1 to 16 providers
- tripling county funding from state and federal resources
Be sure to provide your input in mid-September. Your voice matters.
